Image
Have you ever tried Tagxedo???   I was messing around the other day and found this website! It was so fun. You can create almost anything that you want with words! I made this one for our Business:   We are an   Shaklee Independent Distributor . Shaklee is Always Safe. Always Green and Always Works! They specialize in Healthy Nutrition, Healthy Weight loss, Healthy Skin and personal care, and a Healthy Home with 'Get Clean' laundry, and cleaning products! Click Here for some amazing specials from Shaklee! The next one I made was for our family: I tried to put most of our names in it (including animals) and things that we like to do. I'm planning on putting this in my photo album/scrapbook. The last one I did was with my love for all things plants! I especially like perennials, ornamental grasses, flowering trees and water gardens. I don't spend money on shoes or clothes..... I spend money on plants!! I love my perennial beds! Anyway..here

Business Card Holder Tutorial

Image
How many times do you put business cards on bulletin boards only to find them gone in a few days?? I found the solution..... Make your own Business Card Holder!! I think these are not only cute, but would also help your business......I found a great (very detailed) tutorial on Stitched Boutique .   I decided to make some for me! the first one that I made, I followed her steps, but with three kids running around, I though it was kinda time consuming, so I decided to simplify and it went much quicker....plus I liked the outcome better! So here it is simplified: Fist I printed out my tops onto card stock: Then I made one cut down the middle. (You should now have two pieces of paper.) Next, fold the bottom of the paper in half and draw a line 3/4" from the fold at the bottom. Lay a business card on the line (centered) then draw up the sides. -see picture below Cut out the rectangle: Fold the bottom up like it was before you cut it. Add tape to each of t

A Book Angel

Image
Last winter, almost a year ago my sister came over to do crafts with my daughter and I one evening. We made Book Angel's! My book angel My daughters book angel It was simple enough that my daughter could do everything (except for help with the hot glue gun), but was also lots of fun! Items needed: A book (I used an old song book, my daughter used a reading book with pictures), a glue gun and glue, fake craft hair, wooden balls and scraps of lace and ribbon. You take the book and fold the first six or so pages up.....they are the 'wings'. Do the same thing with the last six or so (the same amount) of pages. Then go through  the rest of the book folding the pages down. (children may need some help to try to fold the pages all the same) folding pages Set the book upright, glue on a wooden ball for the head, then glue on hair, lace, ribbons and bows, etc. (my daughter added a face with a marker to hers...) cutting the hair and there

A Bible Bag

Image
Our daughter is required to take notes for Sunday morning church..... (now, before you think this is too much for a little kid, let me tell you that her notes can be pictures, a saying or a Bible verse -just something to show that she's paying attention to the preacher.) In the past, she has carried a purse, but I decided to make her a Bible bag. The bag is big enough to hold her bible, a note book, kleenex, pencil and chapstick. I bought a pre-made bag at Hobby Lobby, then used craft scraps to decorate it. And since my daughter has low self-esteam, I choose the saying "You are beautiful - just the way you are"! I think it is a hit, as she is thrilled and it didn't cost me more than $2.00! -maybe I'll make these to sell...you think anyone would buy them? Thanks Tip Junkie  for the link-up!

Something every little Boy should have!

Image
I have a all-man type of boy! When QW was one, I wanted to buy him a mat that he could drive his matchbox cars on. However, the ones you buy are either too small, or too costly and I didn't think they looked very fun, so I made him a car mat! It was fun and easy to make, and to this day (He will be 4yrs. next mo.) It is his favorite toy! He plays on the car mat everyday. His sister, dad and even mom sometimes plays on it too!  I am a firm believer that little boys need to play with toys that help them use their imagination in a good way. before the roads were finished The finished car mat I also made one for my little nephew this year for Christmas! I made his different, with more roads and a couple of fields. I also personalized his, so it has their bank, grocery store, his daddy's work, both of his Gmpa's places and favorite restaurants on it! My kids playing on it, while I was still making it. The finished product I keep all his matchbox c
