Chase Away Cancer

Chase Away Cancer by Ellie Poole Ewoldt
Rating: 3 Stars

This book chronicles the start of the long journey of cancer that God brought the Ewoldt family through. The struggles they faced through multiple surgeries, faulty central lines, chemo, radiation, and facing the possibility of the death of their son. The book also shows how they found joy in the Lord and strength in Him through all of it.

I liked the way that the parents interacted with Chase, putting things in a way that a two year old could understand. During surgery, he would go for a “nap” with the doctor. He had “tubies” in his chest, that was wrapped with a “taco”.... He rode in a "spaceship"....

I loved this statement on page 76 and is something I have had to repeat over and over in my own life....
“There is only one thing you can do” he said.

“The only choice you have today and in the days ahead
is to live in a moment-by-moment dependence on the grace of God to see you through…. you can’t think about tomorrow, where you’ll be next week, or what the next year will bring. All you can do is take this, by the grace of God, moment by moment.” - Every inhale and exhale was its own moment of grace with no expectations for the next breath.

When I signed up for this book I didn't know what to expect from it. To be honest, it was hard for me to read. From its very first pages Chase Away Cancer struck me on a very personal level. Not only do I have cancer myself, I am the momma to 3 beautiful kids, and while they are at this moment very healthy, I kept imagining - what if this was my kid.... I felt extremely sad and came to the conclusion that I personally could not put my kid through all that torture.

Overall, I think someone that has not been personally touched by cancer, would enjoy reading this book, and would learn just how extremely hard cancer really is....

Shaklee Trip to California 2012

This month makes 4 years since Stephen and I went on our first All-Expense-Paid Shaklee Trip! So, I thought I'd take a look back and share some highlights with you!

One of the many rewards of building our Shaklee business is the opportunity to travel… and not just travel, but travel in style.....

In May 2012 we enjoyed a trip to California (This was an earned trip that was completely paid for) and absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived at the airport, until we arrived back home, we were treated like royalty! We had our own limo as our transportation to and from the airport!
My first time riding in a limo!
We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, which was very nice... each room had a private deck. There were walking paths, a gym, a pool, and nice courtyard with fountains and lemon and orange trees! Breakfast every morning was provided by Shaklee at the Faz-Restaurant.

Gift from Shaklee....
We toured the beautiful Shaklee Corporation World Headquarters...
Shaklee became the first company in the World to obtain Climate Neutral certification and totally offset it's CO2 emmissions. It's world headquarters building was designed using sustainable materials, including certified sustainable wood, recycled carpets, and recycled plastics.

....and enjoyed walking the red carpet, a welcome reception and photos with Shaklee's President and CEO Roger Barnett.

We had fun Shaklee meetings and made many friends!
Rick & Aldonna ~ Barb ~ Toney & Debbie ~ Pam & Drew
Joe & Heather
Mike & Carolyn
Deanna & Brad  ~  Robert & Ann
Mark & Mari from Wisconsin - their main Shaklee biz is selling Classic Basic H to farmers for crops.
We enjoyed a San Francisco Bay Dinner Cruise around Alcatraz Island and watched the sun set while cruising under the Golden Gate Bridge...

Us with new friends Agnoldo & Suzeli from New York

Did I mention all our meals were colorful and super delicious...???

We had an entire afternoon and evening that was spent at the Inglenook Winery in Napa Valley...

Vivix shots...
We also had a pleasant overnight layover in Chicago at the Hilton Rosemont Chicago O'Hare Hotel... complete with a wonderful meal!

Overall, we had a wonderful five days of luxury.... great food, beautiful sights, and spending time with amazing people!

With Shaklee, you're not just taking a trip..... you're doing it in style and loving it!

My Little Prayers

My Little Prayers

Rating: 4 Stars

My Little Prayers teaches kids both classic and modern prayers surrounding subjects such as mealtimes, bedtime, playtime, time with God, and prayers for times when kids are fearful, happy, or sad. The book is kid-sized, and the pictures are colorful and illustrated to match the prayer they go with.
My 6yr. old daughter loved this little book and was so excited when I gave it to her! She loves looking at the pictures and likes listening to me read the prayers.
The thing I like most about this book is that it teaches kids that we can talk to God any time we want and that He always listens.
If you are wanting to teach your child about the power of prayer, but not sure where to start…. this book is a great one to use!

Things to Say on a Job Interview

I went on an interview for a job and when the boss asked what I wanted for compensation I replied:

1. First, I would like a generous commission on everything I sell with no limitations on my income.

2. I want to be paid a residual income, forever.

3. I want the ability to earn all-expense paid trips for a job well done, not just the vacation TIME, but the whole vacation!

4. I would also like the opportunity to purchase my own products at a discount.

5. I expect you to provide me with the very best support, graphics, training and resources to grow my business.

6. When I bring in and train any new team members, I deserve to be compensated PLUS earn a percentage of their purchases and the purchases of the people they bring in and train.

7. I would like the opportunity to rapidly advance within the company.

8. When I do well, I expect LOTS of praise, recognition and gifts!

9. I would like my friends and family to work here too.

10. By the way, I need to set my own schedule and work only when it suits me and my family.

So when can I start??

After the owner recovered from shock, he roared with laughter, “You can’t be serious!?? You’re dreaming! You will never find an opportunity like that anywhere!!
And if you do….come back and get me because I want to work with you!”

So…., I gave him my business card! www.srkindred.com

This is Why I Shaklee.... and why I love my "job"! .... if you want the perfect job... contact me, let's talk!
