Image
This time of year there is so much flu, strep throat and just plain colds and coughs going around.  You can't be on social media or talk to friends without someone (or lots of someones) being sick in some kind of way.  So, if that is you, I want to tell you - you don't have to be 'sick' any longer. Your body just needs the right nutrients to be able to heal itself. Today, I want to post a recipe for REAL Vitamin Water..... it works wonders and taste's great! This is my favorite recipe to use for an all-natural solution for my family, especially the kids. It supports their immune system, but doesn’t disrupt their nervous system, which means, NO nasty side effects. It’s dye free, artificial sugar free and best of all, tastes great. Really easy to put in thermos to sip on during the school day too! Super Easy, Healthy, recipe to keep you and your family well! Satisfying Chicken Soft Tacos (THM - S)

Image
Ok, so the other night I was browsing online for something to make for supper, when I found Crock Pot Chicken Fajitas from Stacy Makes Cents .  The only problem was: #1- It was a crock pot meal and (I know this sounds terrible, but I don't know how to use my crock pot very well) or maybe, I'm just not a big fan - you have to plan ahead to use a crock and I don't plan ahead when it comes to meals.  #2 - It takes like 4 hrs. to cook and it was already past supper time. #3 - It called for items like peppers and onions (my family don't eat peppers and onions) Anyway, after going out to the shop and  telling complaining to hubby about how I found this good recipe, but I couldn't make it, etc. and after, putting it off as long as I possibly could, I decide to come back inside and get super duty over!  But, I couldn't get that wonderful yummy sounding recipe out of my mind, so decided to try to make it anyway - only with items that my family would

Black Raspberry Pie

Image
Around our place, it's berry season.... we just finished the strawberries and are now full swing into raspberry picking.   We have both red raspberries and black raspberries. My personal favorite would be the black raspberries, as I think they are easier to prune, pick, and can be used in more recipes than the red, but that is just a personal opinion! This year I planted yellow raspberries, but it will be another year or two before they'll be ready to pick.  Oh and blueberries - this is our first year to pick blueberries! We don't have many, just a few handfuls so far, but they sure are yummy and so fun to pick right out of the garden - that is something new for us! Anyway, back to the subject..... I like to put both the red and black raspberries in the freezer to use in desserts throughout the winter. But, the kids love to pick and eat 'em right out of the garden, so sometimes I don't always get as many as I'd like to put away for later.

Easy, Delicious, Rhubarb Crisp

Image
Well, It's Spring-time here in East Central Indiana - and that means, that soon rhubarb will be plentiful! I have two beds of rhubarb in my garden  - both the Victoria and the Crimson Red. I like them mixed.  I love to freeze rhubarb.... it is so easy and it makes the best rhubarb crisp, jellies, and rhubarb cream pies!   Here is one of our family's favorite rhubarb deserts!  ~ Easy, Delicious, Rhubarb Crisp ~ 4 cups chopped rhubarb 1 package strawberry Jell-O 1/3 cup sugar 1 package white cake mix 1 cup water 1/3 cup butter melted   OPTION 1: Place rhubarb in a 9x13"  baking dish. Sprinkle with gelatin, sugar and cake mix. Pour water evenly over dry ingredients; drizzle with butter. Bake @350* for 1 hr. or until top is golden brown. (NOTE: I usually bake for around 1 hr. and 10 min.) OPTION 2: Place rhubarb  in a 9x 13" baking dish. Sprinkle with gelatin and sugar. Mix together cake mix and water and pour/spoon over top; dri

The Best Granola Bars Ever

Image
I love granola bars.... but I don't like the price tag when it comes to buying them and I've always thought they'd be too dificult to make. That is until my sister in law shared this recipe with me. I 'tweaked' it alittle from the original - but our whole family loves them and best of all, these granola bars are super easy to make! Best Chewy Granola Bars Mix together in a large mixing bowl and set aside: 2 c. rice crispies 4 c. oatmeal (I use quickoats) 2 c. grahm crackers (crushed) 2 c. cherrios 2 c. chex cereal 1/2 c. flax seed (optional) Melt 1/4 c.butter and 1/4 c.oil in a 3qt. saucepan. Gently press into two lightly greased pans (either 13x9 for thicker bars or 10x15 jelly roll/cookie sheet with sides for thinner bars) Melt 1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips and 1 c. pean

Easy Apple Cobbler

Image
Every fall - we get apples from Michigan, picked fresh off the tree's - at a very nice price I might add. My sister and husband make quite a few trips up there and always come back with bushels of apples, pears, sweet cherries, plums, peaches, grapes, and other fruit. On their last load they brought back 600+ bushel of apples! I always buy both Gala and Golden Delicious apples each year. The Gala are mainly saved for eating - these are about 6 weeks old now, and still keeping great in the garage. The yellow Golden Delicious is what I make my applesauce, apple butter, apple pie filling and apple cobblers with - they are sweet enough you only need to add a very little amount of sugar! OK, so now for the quickest apple cobbler - here we go - You need two round pie crust's - I buy them at Aldi, as I do not like the mess that making homemade pie crust's make - They come in a box of 2 and are around $1.79 per box. Place a pie crust in the bott

Shaklee Basic H - 1001 uses

A List of Uses for Shaklee Basic-H  Since there are over 1,001 uses it has been difficult to compile a complete list. So, here are a few to start! First, how should Basic-H generally be used? The genius of Basic-H is that it makes water, the “universal solvent,” penetrate dirt and grime more quickly while then rinsing away easily and leaving no toxic residue. Intensely concentrated, Basic-H’s cleaning power is unleashed when it is diluted in water to the strength required for the cleaning job at hand (spot-test first). GENERAL USES FOR BASIC-H2 and Basic H the Classic  CLEANING JOBS: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon to a quart of warm water WINDOWS, MIRRORS: 2 to 4 drops to a pint of water FLOORS: 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water BASIC-G AND BASIC-H CONCENTRATE: 3 Cups H to 1 Cup G (this mix will be diluted in water as needed) OTHER USES FOR BASIC-H Some of these uses are not approved by Shaklee.
