Don't Forget About God's Love on Valentines Day..... ~ God’s Valentine Gift ~   God’s Valentine gift of love to us Was not a bunch of flowers; It wasn’t candy, or a book To while away the hours. His gift was to become a man, So He could freely give His sacrificial love for us, So you and I could live. He gave us sweet salvation, and Instruction, good and true-- To love our friends and enemies And love our Savior, too. So as we give our Valentines, Let’s thank our Lord and King; The reason we have love to give Is that He gave everything. - By Joanna Fuchs

Are All Vitamins the Same?

Image
Aren’t all vitamins the same?                               Why can’t I just get the cheap ones?                                  Don’t they all do the same thing?   These are all very good questions ..... keep reading for the answers! There is such a huge difference between buying a synthetic vitamin and a whole-food vitamin . The biggest difference is the way you feel. There IS a reason that people say they don’t feel any different when they take vitamins. This is because usually the vitamin they are taking is synthetic and potentially toxic to the body. The live enzyme in the synthetic vitamin never existed , therefore your body does not benefit from the vitamin and you are t...

Natural Way To De-Worm Goats

Image
Many people use Shaklee Classic Basic H (including us) as a natural way to de-worm their livestock - we currently use it for our cows, Nigerian dwarf dairy goats and LGD. Here is what is recommended for worming - 1. Measure out Classic Basic H for the animal you are trying help eliminate worms. For cows, use 1 cup per 100 gallons of water or 1/8 cup per 20 gallons of water. For smaller animals like goats and sheep the dosage needs to be smaller. Measure out 6cc. or use 2 drops per 10# of animal weight. Some people do this for 3-7 days, others do it as a one time only treatment. 2. Mix the Classic Basic H with water. For large animals the cleaner can be added to the water trough. For smaller animals, mix the 6 cc with 8 oz. water. Place the mixture in a turkey baster and give to the animal. (We use 2 drops per 10# of animal weight.) For example: A 40 lb. goat would get 8 drops of Classic Basic H added to the drinking water once every 4 months. ...

Book Review - Happily Ever After by Gary Chapman

Review: 4 Stars No Marriage is ever perfect. None. (But, thank the good Lord - mine is very close!) Now that we got that outta the way, let me say:   'Happily Ever After: Six Secrets to a Successful Marriage' by Gary Chapman is a thorough and realistic book. Dr. Chapman is upfront and open, using scripture, real life stories and good counseling advice, bringing to light the issues that come up most often in marriages, - including money, in-laws, kids & yes, sex! Dr. Chapman addresses the six most common problems that couples experience in their marriage which include fighting fair & negotiating, managing money, raising kids, a healthy sex life, and getting along with in-laws....... something I still have a need of improvement on! Each chapter ends with "assignments" and discussion questions which will help you to dig deeper into the book, to work on that particular problem, whether together with your spouse or independently. The book also de...

A Letter To My Ex Husband...

Image
To my ex-husband. I never quit loving you.  You loved me when I thought I was unlovable.  You were there for me when my friends and family forsook me. You watched me grow up. You were my best friend - I told you all my secrets.  I loved your children as my own. Your Grandma Keihl was one of the sweetest ladies I've known. I loved her. We had a hard life together -you and me.... We learned to live without a lot. But, we had some good times, too - and made lots of memories together. I loved driving truck; hauling trailers with you through New York City and the Bronx. (Remember how we would always hug each other when we finally got through it?)  I loved going with you on plumbing and excavating jobs. (I still think it's cool that we demolished the old Shumuth's Restaurant building.)   I loved working with you at the cemetery. I still love cemetery s.  You gave me my precious little girl - I see you, whe...
