Chase Away Cancer

Image
Chase Away Cancer by Ellie Poole Ewoldt Rating: 3 Stars   This book chronicles the start of the long journey of cancer that God brought the Ewoldt family through. The struggles they faced through multiple surgeries, faulty central lines, chemo, radiation, and facing the possibility of the death of their son. The book also shows how they found joy in the Lord and strength in Him through all of it. I liked the way that the parents interacted with Chase, putting things in a way that a two year old could understand. During surgery, he would go for a “nap” with the doctor. He had “tubies” in his chest, that was wrapped with a “taco”.... He rode in a "spaceship".... I loved this statement on page 76 and is something I have had to repeat over and over in my own life.... “There is only one thing you can do” he said. “The only choice you have today and in the days ahead is to live in a moment-by-moment dependence on the grace of God to see you through…. you ...

Shaklee Trip to California 2012

Image
This month makes 4 years since Stephen and I went on our first All-Expense-Paid Shaklee Trip! So, I thought I'd take a look back and share some highlights with you! One of the  many  rewards of building our  Shaklee  business is the opportunity to travel… and not just travel, but travel  in style .....   In May 2012 we enjoyed a trip to California (This was an earned trip that was completely paid for) and absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived at the airport, until we arrived back home, we were treated like royalty! We had our own limo as our transportation to and from the airport! My first time riding in a limo! We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel , which was very nice... each room had a private deck. There were walking paths, a gym, a pool, and nice courtyard with fountains and lemon and orange trees! Breakfast every morning was provided by Shaklee at the Faz-Restaurant. Gift from Shaklee.... We toured the b...

My Little Prayers

Image
My Little Prayers Rating: 4 Stars My Little Prayers teaches kids both classic and modern prayers surrounding subjects such as mealtimes, bedtime, playtime, time with God, and prayers for times when kids are fearful, happy, or sad. The book is kid-sized, and the pictures are colorful and illustrated to match the prayer they go with.   My 6yr. old daughter loved this little book and was so excited when I gave it to her! She loves looking at the pictures and likes listening to me read the prayers. The thing I like most about this book is that it teaches kids that we can talk to God any time we want and that He always listens. If you are wanting to teach your child about the power of prayer, but not sure where to start…. this book is a great one to use! More info on the author and book found  here . Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Blogging For Books book review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The o...

Things to Say on a Job Interview

Image
I went on an interview for a job and when the boss asked what I wanted for compensation I replied: 1. First, I would like a generous commission on everything I sell with no limitations on my income. 2. I want to be paid a residual income, forever. 3. I want the ability to earn all-expense paid trips for a job well done, not just the vacation TIME, but the whole vacation! 4. I would also like the opportunity to purchase my own products at a discount . 5. I expect you to provide me with the very best support, graphics, training and resources to grow my business. 6. When I bring in and train any new team members, I deserve to be compensated PLUS earn a percentage of their purchases and the purchases of the people they bring in and train. 7. I would like the opportunity to rapidly advance within the company. 8. When I do well, I expect LOTS of praise, recognition and gifts! 9. I would like my friends and family to work here too. 10. By the way,...

The More Of Less By Joshua Becker

Image
The More Of Less   By Joshua Becker Rating: 5 Stars In 2014, I stumbled across Becoming Minimalist and started reading with interest. In January 2015 , My husband and I decided that we were going to make the choice to get rid of clutter and simplify our life. Since then we have cleaned out the house, garage, shop, barn and attic and have gotten rid of truck loads of stuff. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve never been ‘pack-rats’, but we simply had a lot of stuff that we didn’t use, just taking up space. You can find my blog post with pictures here. I like to think of myself as a cozy, comfortable minimalist…. I’ll never have total bare walls or get rid of all my photo’s, etc., but I do love a clean, non cluttered home and continue to get rid of things on a daily basis. "Living with less isn't about having bare walls and no furniture. It's about getting rid of the clutter, so you can enjoy the things that you love." –Rhoda A Kindre...

How to Review a Product Company

Image
Any one can find a bad review on any company. My husband always says about reviews... "If you are looking for bad reviews, you'll find them. If your looking for good ones, you'll find them too." He has an extremely good point. People that write reviews all have their own opinions and some even have a hidden agenda - for example, instead of contacting customer service, they'd rather write a review and drag the company through the mud, without giving the company a chance to right the wrong. So here's what you need to know when it comes to reviews. There's going to be good ones and bad ones..... that's not the point. When reviewing a product company, look for the scientific research, the published health journals, the studies. Look to see if the company is owned or partly owned by a doctor, the scientist or the research company. Do they benefit by giving the company a good review? Look for outside studies. The other thing I would like to make...
