Each day begins with a Bible verse, continues with a one page short devotional, followed by reflection questions and a closing prayer.  From the title I was anticipating the pages to be filled with warm nuggets of truth about God's love, however, it seemed to be lacking for me. It does speak of God's love for us, but some of the devotions were more negative than others.  God's Love Letters to You is Dr. Crabb's interpretation of what God might say to you in conversation about the scriptures. Green Car Washing   We are in the middle of prime summer time!  Yep, people are out swimming, children (& some eager adults) playing on the slip n slide, folks are going on road trips.  Let's face it summer is the time to get outside!  ONE of those lovely outdoor tasks we seem to do more often is washing our own car.  Saving money, getting a little tan (not too much, wear that sunscreen!), and squirting your doggies OR significant other with the hose is reason enough to wash your own car! However, when you wash your vehicle, please do it the GREEN way.  Here are some very simple tips for doing just that: -Grab a bucket instead of the hose. The average car wash done at home uses up to 110 gallons of clean drinking water.  If you use a bucket instead you can save at least 80 gallons!                                                                 I have a jewelry box that sits on top my dresser. It really isn't too bad looking......until you open the lid!  The part I've always disliked about a jewelry box was that the necklace's are always tangled and I can never find a matching pair of earrings!  I've been brain storming for a while about this, so finally decided to do something about it!  I found a plastic coated wire hanger, an old picture frame (minus the glass and backing) black spray paint and a piece of window screen. I painted the old picture frame black and let dry, then hot glued the screen to the back of it. I used wire cutters to cut the clothes hanger and bent it with a pair of pliers, so that the wire would bend around the back of the frame and hot glued them into place. (the large one at the bottom for the necklaces and the small at the top for anklets and bracelets)  I also cut the hook from the hanger to use to hang my

 ~ Chasing Rainbows Iris..... my favorite - they smell so refreshing! ~                                         Well it’s the first of June and although most of the garden is in....but, I still have a few more things to put out.  One - being sweet potatoes. I always forget to start my own during winter. This year, I can't find them anywhere..... I think I may have learned my lesson this time! Our family's favorite quick bread is: Sweet Potato Bread .... and it is scrumptious! 3 c. granulated sugar 1 c. oil 3 eggs 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. (I use more) mashed sweet potatoes 1 c. chopped pecans Mix all ingredients together well. Pour into 2 lightly greased loaf pans. Bake at 325* oven for 1 hr. and 15 min. -stick with tester to make sure center is done....may need to bake longer. Makes 2 loaves *Please Leave a comment and
